"The ACLU of Colorado mourns the recent passing of State Representative John Buckner. Representative Buckner was a common-sense legislator who improved the lives of his constituents and young people throughout the state as Chair of the House Education Committee.
“As Vice Chair of the Black Caucus and the first African American elected to represent House District 40, Representative Buckner worked with his colleagues to protect civil rights and civil liberties and to make Colorado a fairer, more just place for all people to live.
