ACLU Discussion: The New Jim Crow (Colorado Springs)

Join the ACLU of Colorado and the ACLU Colorado Springs Chapter for a discussion of the ground-breaking book, "The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness" by litigator turned academician Michelle Alexander. The discussion will take place in the Library at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 20 E. St. Vrain Street, Colorado Springs and will be led by Colorado College Professor and Second Lady of Colorado, Dr. Claire Oberon Garcia.
Dr. Garcia, a scholar who researches, writes and speaks on topics relevant to the African diaspora, received a Ph.D. in English from the University of Denver. She is married to Colorado Lt. Gov. Joseph A. Garcia.
The discussion is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
