The ACLU of Colorado sent letters to every sheriff in the state calling into question the legal authority to detain people for up to 6 days at the request of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Sheriffs from around the state have responded by announcing that they will no longer honor ICE detainer requests.
We've put together an interactive map showing where Colorado counties stand on ICE detainers. We will continue to update the map as more counties refuse to honor ICE requests.
