Mia Bailey is a Paralegal at the ACLU of Colorado. She previously worked as a Pre-Law Paralegal at Kostelanetz LLP in Washington, D.C. where she assisted with billable client work and led the firm’s HBCU initiatives with Spelman and Morehouse college. Mia has also worked as a Congressional Intern at the House of Representatives and as a Policy Intern for the Richmond Mayor’s Office in Virginia. She is an aspiring attorney with a passion for public interest work.
Mia graduated with Highest Distinction from the University of Virginia with a BA in Public Policy and Leadership accompanied by minors in Sociology and African American Studies. At UVA, Mia focused her schoolwork and research roles on investigating routes for improving police-community relations and equitable access to quality education. Mia was a recipient of the University Achievement Award Scholarship, the Frank Batten School’s Frederic Bocock Fellowship for public service, and the Sociology Department’s Commonwealth Award for her thesis.
Outside of work, Mia loves to dance, explore Colorado, and nerd out over Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. Mia is eager to contribute to the ACLU of Colorado’s invaluable work and learn from the legal department’s incredible attorneys.
