Everyone has biometric data that makes them unique, and companies and corporations are profiting from people’s biometric data by selling and sharing it — often without the person’s consent. This puts biometric data at risk.
The ACLU of Colorado is leading efforts to better protect Coloradan’s biometric data through the Colorado Biometrics Identifiers Privacy Act (BIPA).

BIPA, also known as HB24-1130, would reduce the risk of misuse, nonconsensual sharing, and exploitation of this data and would also strengthen transparency on when and how corporations are using that data.
