The 64th annual John R. Coen Lecture is presented by Deborah N. Archer, president of the ACLU, a tenured professor of clinical law and director of the Civil Rights Clinic at New York University School of Law, and co-faculty director of the Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law at NYU Law. Professor Archer will discuss racial justice, touching on housing, voting rights, and criminal legal system reform. This lecture is co-sponsored by the ACLU of Colorado.
The lecture series is in the namesake of John Coen, a distinguished member of the Colorado bar and an able public speaker. The purpose is to bring a prominent and distinguished lawyer, jurist, or scholar of law to deliver an annual lecture to Colorado Law’s students and faculty on a legal subject of interest and benefit to the profession, preferably with some public or political aspect.
