Lobbying – what it really means, how to do it, and why learning how to be a community lobbyist helps build your advocacy toolbox and protect democracy in your community. Spoiler Alert: Lobbying is for everyone.

This is an interactive 1-hour advocacy workshop where you'll learn about your right to participate in the legislative process, and the strategies for talking with elected officials about the justice issues that matter to you and your community.

You'll learn how a bill becomes a law, why state level legislation matters, what lobbying is, and how to talk to your representatives. Hosted by ACLU-CO staff, you'll hear from a professional lobbyist, a policy expert working on one of our priority bills, and fellow participants.

This workshop is open to all levels and skillsets – all you need is a passion for justice.

This event includes a recorded performance by the Denver Gay Men's Chorus.
