  • James Fisher spoke at the ACLU of Colorado Bill of Rights Dinner about how he and the ACLU are working together to stop the criminalization of poverty for the thousands of Coloradans who are trapped in debtors’ prisons.

  • Out of Sight, Out of Mind is an original short film from the ACLU of Colorado about a man who has spent 17 years in solitary confinement and now suffers from debilitating mental illness.

Speakers Bureau

Are you interested in learning more about the work of the ACLU? Do members of your organization have questions about a civil liberties issue?

Members of our Speakers Bureau give presentations to students, community organizations, service organizations, professional associations and a variety of other groups. Our speakers are lawyers, educators, members of the ACLU Board of Directors and other experts in civil liberties.

We offer the following courses:

– ACLU 101
– Defending the Constitution in the Trump Era
– Know Your Rights for Immigrants and Non-Citizens
– Know Your Rights When Dealing with Law Enforcement
– Know Your Rights for Homeless People
– Know Your Rights for Students
– Reproductive Rights
– Voting Rights

If you are interested in a topic that is not currently listed, let us know. 

Please note: Due to increased demand, we require three weeks’ notice and an audience of at least 25 participants to schedule an event. For smaller events and house parties, we can send ACLU handouts and materials for you to share. Other events may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

If you are interested in a civil rights/liberties topic for which there is not currently a course, let us know.
  • ACLU Speakers are available to your group at no charge. If your budget includes an honorarium, we would gladly accept that to offset the costs of our Speakers Bureau.
